Healing Through Cooking: A Seasonal Wellbeing Experience at The Jericho Kitchen
This October, The Jericho Kitchen welcomes a deeply nourishing new experience to The Cart Shed in Preston Crowmarsh – a seasonal wellbeing cookery class designed to support health, connection and emotional grounding through the gentle practice of cooking together.
Many of you will remember Marcia from our much-loved Spanish and Mexican classes. She now returns in a new and meaningful way, bringing her Healing at the Root practice (marciabarrington.co.uk) into our kitchen space. Now a trained psychotherapist as well as an artisan cook and creator with over two decades of experience, Marcia weaves together food, reflection and gentle therapeutic insight.
This is not simply a cookery class. It is a space to slow down. A space to reconnect. A space to care for yourself and others through seasonal, nourishing food.
Seasonal Cooking for Emotional and Physical Wellbeing
As the rhythm of the year shifts into autumn, our bodies and minds naturally seek warmth, grounding and steadiness. In this four-hour immersive workshop, you will embrace the rhythm of cooking to connect with the changing seasons and explore what may be stirring within you.
Together, we will prepare warming, heartfelt recipes designed to foster a sense of grounding and connection — food that nourishes both physically and emotionally. Through chopping, stirring, sharing and sitting together at the table, participants experience the powerful simplicity of cooking as a restorative practice.
Research increasingly shows that mindful cooking, sensory engagement and shared meals can support mental health, reduce stress and foster a sense of belonging. This experience gently holds space for reflection while remaining rooted in the joy of creating something delicious together.
