It is perfect timing – the start of classes at the Jericho Kitchen and the most bountiful month for fruit and veg (in my eyes) – finally we are not a “virtual cookery school”! ! !
It seems that by having a lot of faith and several chance meetings I have managed to find myself some really interesting, young people with passion and enthusiasm for their cause to join me with mine!
Mahdy (or Medhi as I have been calling him but he has been too polite to say anything! will kick off the proceedings with “A Persian Dinner Party” on Friday 2nd October at 6.30pm. If you would like to book then please contact me through https://jerichokitchen.co.uk/get-in-touch – the menu being:
Stuffed baby butternut squash with honey roasted aubergine with tahini & feta
Slow roasted quail with mango, red onion, herbs, pomegranate and lime or
Koko Sabzi – Persian mixed herb pattis with radish and pistachio (v) &
Persian jewel rice with nuts, berries and rose water
James Flewellen is not only a fellow Jericho resident but an Oxford-based biophysicist and award-winning wine writer – heady combination! Further afield, he runs the Taste Unlocked Masterclasses in Chartres, France, as well as wine courses in the Hunter Valley, Australia – www.tasteunlocked.com
We have planned our first course together – tasting 6 wines and their paring with certain foods,? hopefully we will be holding that at The Jericho Coffee Traders in King Edward Street in Oxford – date to follow but it will definitely be in November.
Finally, I have to mention the “C” word but don’t worry only briefly! Not only are we busy dreaming up fabulous classes that are fun and inspiring but we are also finalising what we will be on offer for your work Christmas parties! Nothing traditionally British – we think you are going love our alternative – as always – coming soon! !
